Striving to maintain a healthier and more natural lifestyle is gaining more momentum as the world progresses to a seemingly more artificial norm of living. Now more than ever, it is important that people receive a good foundation of holistic knowledge so that not only can they live more naturally themselves, but so that they can help others as well.

Here at Wholistic Training, we believe in a holistic approach to training our students. As a result, they can understand how to treat others naturally and without the overuse of pharmaceuticals. As one of the oldest massage therapy training schools in the province, we have years of experience teaching students how to help others. Currently, we offer four different training programs, as well as continuing education credit courses/workshops. The programs are Massage Therapy, Acupressure / Meridian Therapy, Psychosomatic Therapy, and Reflexology.

Let’s look more into our different programs and why holistic training is the right path for you.

Massage Therapy

Here at Wholistic Training, we offer a  Basic Massage Therapy program that is 500 hours total. In this course, we cover the basic techniques used in Massage Therapy. You’ll learn how to provide effective consultation so a client can benefit from treatment. In addition, you will receive a certificate of completion. You can use the 500 hours from our basic program towards our Advanced Professional Massage Therapy diploma (2200 hours).

Acupressure / Meridian Therapy

Acupressure and Meridian Therapy is another program we offer that helps people understand the energy pathways of the body and how to heal them. With our Basic Acupressure / Meridian Therapy and Advanced Acupressure / Meridian Therapy program, we teach students about how our meridians are energy pathways. We also instruct on how to treat others based on what physiological, pathological, and emotional stressors are presented.

Psychosomatic Therapy

The main goal of our Psychosomatic Therapy program is to teach you about the connection between the human mind, body, and soul. We also teach you about how human emotions affect not only our mental health but affect our physical well-being. Currently, we offer Basic Psychosomatic Therapy and Advanced Psychosomatic Therapy, in which you will learn about the mind and body relationship, how to balance others, and how to help others regain cohesiveness within their mind, body, and soul.

Reflexology

In our Reflexology programs, we teach you about the various pressure points in the hands, feet, ears, and face and how they connect to the human organs and glands. Due to this, we offer three different reflexology course:

  1. Foot Reflexology
  2. Reflexology of The Hand
  3. Face and Ear Reflexology

All of our reflexology classes cover the physiology and treatment of the specific parts. We also discuss how to alleviate the mental and physical ailments of patients.

Continuing Education

In addition, we offer five Continuing Education/Credit Courses that are worth ten to twenty credits each. Each year massage therapists in Alberta are required to take a minimum of 10 credits in a continuing education program to maintain their professional designation each year. The five courses that we offer in this category are:

  1. Meridian Pressure Points
  2. Hand Reflexology
  3. Face and Ear Reflexology
  4. Energy (Chi) Balancing
  5. Foot Reflexology

Not only will you gain a strong foundation of knowledge from our instructors, but you will also get their years of experience and passion for holistic health and wellness.
